Walk along the coast, Lloret de Mar

We are often reproached (and quite deservedly)for being a little biased and hardly paying attention to the beaches and the beautiful coast of Lloret de Mar. The city is not in vain very popular among tourists due to its many beaches, restaurants, discos and nightlife, here are the famous Gardens of St. Clotilde, Waterworld and many other attractions.
We fill the annoying gap and invite you to a virtual photowalk with us along the seashore following the traditional “camino de ronda” footpath. Such walking trails are laid almost along the entire Costa Brava coast. Our walk will start on the left side of the city beach, where the Castell d’en Plaja castle tower stands on top of the cliff, the city’s visiting card, and will end a little before reaching Sa Tortuga.

Winter in Costa Brava

Winter in Costa Brava

We are often asked, but what about you, how the life is on the Costa Brava in the winter? We answer – yes, as bad as in summer, only worse 😀.
Boring rocky landscapes, scanty and pale colors; mediterranean pines, eternally green in its European conservatism; cold sea of the steel color and penetrating cold … No comparison with the cozy warmth of a comfortable car standing in a traffic jam somewhere in New York (well, in Los Angeles or in a good old London), under the lulling purr of the radio, accompanied by a sparkling snow and merry winking of the lights of holiday garlands on Christmas trees…
If for some strange reason, you still persist and want proof – you are welcome at your own risk, please see real photos in our blog following the link – Winter on the Costa Brava.

Maritime Museum of Barcelona

Maritime Museum of Barcelona

Next to the ever populous and raging Rambla, almost at its very beginning, close to the monument to Christopher Columbus, the Maritime Museum of Barcelona is located in a quiet corner in the building of the former Royal Shipyards. The Royal Shipyards have been located here since 1243, and over the past centuries many Spanish war galleys were built here. And since 1936 the Maritime Museum has been located here, among the many exhibits of which one can highlight a replica of the famous flagship royal galley of the XVI century, as well as the first Catalan submarine, constructed in 1859.
A detailed story about the history of the museum and its exhibits, as well as their photos, you can read and see in our blog following the link.

Birds of prey park Cim d’Àligues

Birds of prey park Cim d'Àligues
Pondering where to spend a day with children, surrounded by a wild nature ? Here is an option – birds of prey park Cim d’Àligues (which in Catalan means the Peak of the Eagles) located in one of the most picturesque places for which Catalonia is so famous, on a hilltop near the town of Sant Feliu de Codines quite close to Barcelona. Here you can see “alive” a numerous representatives of feathered predators – falcons, eagles, hawks, vultures, owls and eagle-owl, and many many others. But the most interesting part of a visit to the park is a “free fly” show, during which you can see the birds in a free flight – a fascinating and exciting spectacle!

Sandy rocks in Ille-sur-Tet, France (Les Orgues d’Ille-sur-Têt)

Sandy rocks in Ille-sur-Tet, France (Les Orgues d'Ille-sur-Tet)

As you know, the most talented creator in this world is nature itself. Another proof of this are the incredible sandy rocks in the form of giant columns, staring at the sky and resembling the pipes of an organ of enormous size in the vicinity of the small town of Ille-sur-Têt in France, 50 kilometers from the Spanish border. As scientists say (and we have no reason not to trust them!), this structure is not too young, just some 4-5 million years old, but the remaining lifespan for these rocks is quite short – sand columns erode more and more with each rain that passed , and their appearance subtly changes. Perhaps they will last for rest of our lifetime, but better hurry!
More photos and a short story with information on route planning can be viewed following the link – Sandy Rocks in Ille-sur-Tet.

Retro Auto Moto Museum, Barcelona

Retro Auto Moto Museum Barcelona
If you are walking around Barcelona close to the Palace of Catalan Music, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Retro-Auto-Moto Museum, which contains vintage cars and motorcycles of the past (the oldest exhibit dates back to 1897!), disappeared brands from existing or disappeared countries ( including from the republics of the former USSR).
On the three floors of the building constructed in 1880, in an area of 1,500 square meters there are more than 80 diligently restored representatives of the automotive and motorcycle industry, most of which, by the way, can still move under their own power. A journey into the past will not leave indifferent either children or adults! A short story and more photos from the museum can be viewed following the link – Retro-Auto-Moto Museum.
