Tamariu, Costa Brava

Tamariu, Costa Brava

Today we offer a stroll along the Costa Brava coast in Tamariu – a tiny village forming part of the municipality of Palafrugell. The width of the bay here does not exceed 150 meters; the beach is covered with coarse sand, and the water in the bay is crystal clear and transparent. Absolute immersion in the atmosphere of an authentic Catalan fishing village by the sea…

Fort Bellegarde, Le Perthus, France

Fort Bellegarde, Le Perthus, France

The history of military conflicts between Spain and France, as well as the tragic role of Catalonia in them … Let’s meet one more fortress located near the Costa Brava coast – this time it is a Fort Bellegarde, proudly towering on a high hill above the highways AP-7 and N-II, and located in a small town of Le Perthus, an ancient refuge of smugglers, right on the Spanish-French border, and nowadays more known as a “duty free” trade center.
A detailed story accompanied by photographic cards could be read following the link – Fort Bellegarde.

Halloween is close!

Halloween is close! Halloween is approaching, it’s close… Are you ready for the holiday? Hurry-up, the shops are still open and there is still a choice of different funny (and horror!) suits of all sorts of evil spirits.

Traditional tunnel of horrors will be erected in a Playa de Aro, just in front of the sports pavilion, a favorite attraction for children and adults, the bravest will be able to enter this tunnel starting at 21:00 on October 31st. And in order to alleviate the tension of the exhilarating waiting, you can watch a children’s festival (beginning at 19:00), and then for fans – a twirling show (beginning at 20:00).

The M2 Lux team wishes everyone to have a good time!

Llafranc

Льяфранк Llafranc

Today we would like to invite you to take a walk along the beach and walking paths along the seashore in the town of Llafranc. Together with the neighboring towns of Calella de Palafrugell and Tamariu, Llafranc is part of the coastline of the municipality of Palafrugell. Fortunately, Llafranc was able to maintain that elusive antic charm which was inherent in typical fishing villages on the Costa Brava before the mass tourism arrived, ruthlessly sweeping away the local flavor and age-old traditions on its way.
In fact – nothing unusual,  the typical landscape of this wonderful mediterranean coast: a small town, a beautiful sandy beach with emerald-colored water, framed by rocky shores overgrown with pine trees; unbearably clean air – a real challenge for city dwellers🙂.

We invite you to take a virtual tour in Llafranc.

The final part of the story about our trip to Mallorca is a trip by retro railway from Palma to the seaside town of Soller. This town is famous not only for its beautiful bay and no less beautiful embankment along which old trams run, but also for its oranges, which, by the way, led to the construction of a railway line connecting Palma and Soller.
A story about the history of the construction of the railway and photos taken during this exciting trip can be viewed at the link – Retro-train to Soller, Mallorca.
