Cadaqués

Cadaqués is a snow-blue city on the shores of the azure coast of the Costa Brava. His name is inextricably linked with the brilliant master of the brush and canvas, the famous madcap and a talented mystifier with an intricate mustache, Salvador Dali.
Well, to be impartial and not to look back at the high names, then Cadaqués (accent on the last syllable) is just a very beautiful mediterranean town, downright tempting to indulge in a lazy rest in one of the many coastal restaurants on the banks of the blessed Costa Brava shores…

Turtle Valley, France (La Vallée des Tortues)

If your kids are tired of the sea and ask for new experiences, offer them a trip to the Turtle Valley, which is located in France, just 25 kilometers from the place where the autoroute AP-7 crosses the spanish/french border. Here, in a picturesque place at the foot of the mountains, there is a small park in which several species of turtles (including a hefty Galapagos turtles) live comfortably, as well as other animals. Children have where to run, jump and even touch turtles; there is also a place to rest for parents in the shade of the trees.

К северо-востоку от города Вик, на вытянутой скале, с трех сторон омываемой водами реки Тер, гордо возвышается старинный бенедиктинский монастырь Monestir de Sant Pere de Casserres, чудом сохранившийся до наших дней. Отличное местечко для воскресной прогулки – помимо самого монастыря здесь можно насладиться роскошными живописными видами на реку, неторопливо несущую свои воды между высокими скалистыми берегами, а также полюбоваться на водохранилище Panta de Sau и рассмотреть торчащий из воды шпиль церкви XI века, которая находилась в деревеньке Sant Romà, затопленной во время строительства водохранилища.

Excellent place for a Sunday walk – in addition to the monastery itself, you can enjoy magnificent picturesque views of the river, slowly carrying its waters between the high rocky shores, as well as admire the Panta de Sau reservoir and view the spire of the 11th century church sticking out of the water in a village Sant Romà, flooded during the construction of the reservoir.

Medieval Fair in Hostalric 2018

In the medieval town of Hostalric located on a hill along the AP-7 highway leading from Barcelona to Girona, the Medieval Fair (Fira Medieval) is held every year at the end of March. This is a really entertaining event for adults and children; in 2018 it was held for a 22nd time!
There are processions of disguised characters, knightly battles, archery competitions; craftsmen showing their skills on the streets of the old town and in the fortress. You can buy virtually all kinds of things in the countless tents of the roaming merchants…

Walk along the coast, Platja el Golfet beach - Calella de Palafrugell.

We continue the theme of walks along the Costa Brava using specially arranged routes, which are called in Spanish “camino de ronda”.
This time our route lies to the south of the main beaches of Calella de Palafrugell; we start our walk from Playa el Golfet beach, located next to the famous Cap Roig gardens, and head north to Calella.
