American Cars 2019 in Playa de Aro.
Last weekend, June 8 and 9, the traditional holiday of fans of the American automotive industry “American Cars Platja d’Aro 2019” took place in Playa de Aro; this overwelming event was organized by the Catalan Club of the American Cars. According to the founders, the current exhibition of cars was held for the 30th time at the national level, and for the 25th time – at the international level.
It seems that every year the holiday is becoming more and more popular – at least we managed to see a lot of new, not previously exhibited cars. The rest is nothing new, everything is as usual: polished luxury cars of different years of manufacture, the oldest of which were lovingly restored and dated back to the 30s of the 20th century; a loud growl of powerful engines, the smell of burning tires on traditional drift competition, loud hard rock rambling from the speakers, crowds of people making selfies with cool cars, while their owners in wide-brimmed Texas hats relax in the shade, sipping beer accompanied by traditional Catalan snacks …

We invite you to stroll along Camino de Ronda in S’Agaro – without exaggeration, the most beautiful hiking trail of the Costa Brava. It passes along the seashore around the elite residential complex S’Agaro Vell and famous hotel Hostal de la Gavina.

The first houses in the prestigious urbanization S’Agaro were erected from 1922 to 1924. Around the same time began the construction of a wonderful walking trail along the seashore. The Hostal de la Gavina opened its doors to visitors in 1932. Since then, the stream of people eager to relax here has not dried up year after year; and it is very, very prestigious to own an expensive real estate in Sagaro – you can easily meet one of the celebrities during a walk here…

Our path will take you from San Pol beach to Sa Conca beach, the path is very comfortable for walking, rather wide and level, which lovers of a healthy lifestyle enjoy with pleasure – along the way you will meet many runners and walkers😊. The length of the route is 1 km 800 m in one direction, but you still won’t be able to quickly get through – the breathtaking landscapes of rocky shores in combination with the azure color of sea water in countless bays and year-round fresh green Mediterranean pines leave no one indifferent, the best selfies are guaranteed! And if you’re lucky – you can see squirrels, which are found here in abundance …

Playa de Aro beaches

Playa de Aro (in Catalan – Platja d’Aro) is a small tourist town on the Costa Brava, part of the municipality of Castell-Playa de Aro, which also includes the villages of S’Agaro and Castell de Aro. A small fishing village existed here for a long time and it used to be called Fanals de Aro, but it became widely known in the 1960s – 1970s (the old name was replaced by Playa de Aro); as usual, the construction and tourist boom began, which has not calmed down so far. Real estate in Playa de Aro is in demand even in times of crisis! On the “golden” 500 meters of the central street between the city hall and the square of Dr. Josep Trueta, where a monument in his honor, popularly called the “torch”, is located, there are the best shops, where some of the most expensive clothing brands are presented; on the streets you can often find Ferrari and Lamborghini peacefully roaring in search of a parking space …
But the most important thing that attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world every year is the beaches, the sandy beaches of the Costa Brava, and here they have everything to every taste and color – someone likes the long and wide city beach, someone likes Cala Rovira, or prestigious Sa Conca beach and someone prefer the tiny secluded bays, which are located in the northern part of the city, closer to San Antoni de Calonge.
We took the camera and walked along the seashore…
