Located in a secluded bay with an excellent sandy beach, with a medieval fortress towering on a rock – Tossa de Mar is a real gem of the Costa Brava coast.
People appreciated the beauty and convenience of this place a long time ago, the ancient Iberian settlements were already here in the 4th century BC! In the 12th century, fortress walls were built to protect against the ubiquitous Mediterranean pirates. In the 50s of the XX century, the city experienced a real tourist boom associated with the filming of the movie “Pandora and the Flying Dutchman” with the participation of the inimitable Ava Gardner, whose monument is located right in the fortress.
Today Tossa is one of the most popular tourist attractions of the Costa Brava.
